Default Servicing/Claims
Report a Delinquency
When a borrower defaults on a loan, a Notice of Delinquency (NOD) must be filed. The NOD starts the communication process with MGIC on a delinquent loan.
Notify MGIC after the second consecutive missed payment via:
- MGIC/Link Servicing: Login or learn more (.pdf)
- MGIC's Automated Delinquency Reporting (.pdf) program.
You will receive a Monthly Delinquency Loan Status Report (MDLSR) from MGIC for delinquencies reported through MGIC/Link Servicing. Return the MDLSR only if you have new or updated information related to any of the following:
- Loan Status
- Unpaid principal balance
- Loan due-for date
- Delinquency Status
- Bankruptcy information
- Foreclosure start date
- Foreclosure sale date
- Title acquired date
- Servicing transfer
See sections 1.01 and 1.02 of MGIC's Default Servicing Guide (.pdf) for details.
